The latest...

Here is what has been going on since we have been back from Florida and Sarah and Liam have left.  Mari is continuing to eat different foods.  We have tried about 5 different things and she is showing signs of being as picky as I am in what , where, and how she eats.  For example she decided she needed to hold the spoon and feed herself and hold the bowl all at the same time.  She was a mess and it was so funny, but it will be a one time deal even though she thinks that she needs to eat like this every time.  "I don't think so missy."  It seems as though her favorite is green beans.  Hopefully we continue to succeed with the food.

I celebrated my first Mother's Day and it was very nice.  Greg and Mari got me a very sweet card and the new Rascal Flatts cd.  Unfortunately the weather decided we needed more snow, so we were stuck inside for the day.  Oh well, it was great family time.  I got to take a nice long nap and Greg brought dinner to me from out favorite Chinese restaurant and Dairy Queen blizzards.  Not so healthy, but very yummy.  The weather has turned around and is gorgeous, so we try and make it out everyday for a nice hike or walk on the bike path.  I am hoping to take Mari to the park for the first time this weekend and just enjoy some family time with my wonderful hubby and baby girl.

Lastly just a little tidbit of what Greg has been up to.  Before the mountain closed Greg and some friends got together to make a safety video for fun.  For his job they have to focus on safety with their staff, so this was just a fun way to implement it.  In the end he was recognized for it by all of the Upper Management for the resort, received a bonus, and it is possibly going to be used for all Vail Resorts.  This is a huge deal and very exciting for him.  Here is the video for all of you to view and see why they gave him so much praise for it.  Greg is back working at the golf course for the summer and his plan is to play as much golf as he can.

Sarah and Liam Visit. Yeah!!!

What a great weekend we just had.  Sarah and Liam came for a visit and we had a blast.  It is so much fun to see the cousins interact.  Greg was out of town for the weekend, so it was just a moms and babies weekend.  They were here from Wedensday to Sunday.  While she was here we attempted to go out to dinner with the kids one night and it was a disaster, but we did it.

Greg didn't leave until Thursday so we thought we would have our first taste of food besides cereal.  We started with bananas and she actually enjoyed them.  We then started green beans and I can say of the two foods she eats green beans better.  We hope to begin avocados and applesauce in the next few weeks.

While Sarah and Liam were here she struggled with focusing while she ate.  She was much more interested in where Liam was off to.

We hiked with the dogs and kidos.  It was still snowy and very muddy, but gorgeous weather so it was nice to get out.  We got Mari a new backpack to hike in instead of the Bjorn.  She enjoys it and so do I.  I can actually see were I am going and it is more comfortable.

Could these two be any cuter.  I was amazed at how well they get along.  When Mari is with all the boys from church and they get near her she cries, but Liam makes her smile.  I love it...

Auntie Sarah reading to them before bed time.

Well Mari can't crawl yet, but she can sure do scoot on her head while doing backbends.  I may have a gymnast on my hands.

And then there is this little man.  He is on the move everywhere.  You can't turn your back on him.  He loved crawling over to the DVD rack, pulling himself up on it, and pulling the DVD's off.  What a fun game.

We took the kids swimming at the Rec Center.  It was Liam's first time in a pool.  He loved it which we figured he would.  He drank the pool since he couldn't stop smiling and splashing.

The cutes nephew in the world.  I loved having them here and can't wait to see them again soon. Hopefully Mari and I can go to St. Louis in June.  Love ya Liam and Sis!

Florida Trip

Well the ski season is over and now we are getting ready to start our beautiful summer, but first a trip.  To relax from a long winter Jim and Donna took us down to Marco Island, FL.  This was the first time I had ever been to Florida and Mari's first tropical vacation.  The weather was amazing and just perfect.  We had such a great time, thanks Grandma D and Grandpa Nienhouse.

The beautiful view from the condo we stayed in.

We went to eat at Snook's and were able to watch the Dolphin's in the Bay.  It was an amazing sight and good food.  Can't beat that!

Our first walk on the beach.  Mari was not sure what to think of it all.  She did love the waves crashing, it was soothing to her.  She didn't mind touching the sand, but cried when her feet touched the water.  It was a bit cold initially.

We brought along this travel bed.  It didn't work for sleeping (toooo small), but it was great to have at the beach and pool.

Hanging out at the pool.  For the most part she enjoyed it, but got very tired of the lathering of sunscreen.  Our pool here is indoors.

Grandma D and Mari at dinner one night.

One of my favorite pictures.  She is learning how to sit up and got to feel grass for the first time.

Grandpa Nienhouse and Mari fishing. :)

Fun in the Sun.

My beach baby!!

Greg was able to go fishing right on the beach and he did pretty good.

Soaking up the sunshine, since it was cold and yucky in Breckenridge while we were here.

A parrot that would talk to you as you walked by.  So I thought what a cute picture.  Needless to say he was not excited to have us be close to him.

Playing with Daddy.

One last try to see what we think of the water.  Not digging it at all.

Our last sunset.

Not so sure about this fish either.
