It's Spring

Well, it is finally feeling like spring on a regular basis. We still get our occasional icky day but oh well. So we have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather.

We had an ultrasound this Saturday to be sure all is good. Here is Mari afterwards playing in the melting snow falling from the gutter and a puddle. So much fun!!
We are on track and still scheduled for a c-section on May 20th. He is measuring big, but that would explain my large belly. At least that is what my excuse is. It is always great to hear how large I look.
A quick story from my last visit to Wal-Mart. A man stocking the shelves asks me when I am due and I tell him May 20th. He proceeds to tell me "oh wow, no offense but you look like you are due today." That is something a girl always wants to hear. He even has children, I know this because he told me his life story, so you would have thought he would have known better. Ladies, lets be sure that is not our husbands ever.

Here is a picture of our handsome man.

Enjoying a morning in town with some friends. All the kids love to throw rocks off the bridge and give us all a little scare by getting close to the water.

We had a surprise party for a friend at the bowling alley. So we made a quick appearance and of course Mari had to do what everyone else was doing. She thought it was so much fun. There is a video at the end of her bowling. It is very dark, but the black light shows the ball enough.

Before the party began we had some ice cream. Yum Yum it was goooood. She started giggling when she got this spoonful and no she didn't eat it all.

The mountain is now closed so we took the dogs to run around and see Daddy at work. Here we are sitting on the chair lift.

Bogey gets hot very quick so he is soaking in the pond. He smells great right now.

Along with the warm weather also comes the nasty ice snow and as you can see Mari used her face to break her fall on the snow. She did this at daycare and it is getting much better. I guess this is what we get when she can do it all by herself.

Just a cute pic with her pig tails.

The last day the mountain was open we took Mari skiing. This is her very first run ever. It was so cute and no fear. They make these little skis that she can just wear her boots. She loved it and kept saying more, more. Her lovie got to go skiing too.

Look I already know how to make a pizza and stop.

Unfortunately the magic carpet wasn't running so she didn't get to actually ride on it, we just walked on it for fun. I am sure if it was running we would have never left.

Enjoy a few videos of skiing and bowling.

Lastly, Mari has decided on her own that she wants to potty in her potty chair. We are very excited for potty training, but not all the work since I can't bend over with this large belly. She has went a couple times by herself in the last couple days. So we are hoping for an easy transition. Cross our fingers.

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter!!

We have had a great weekend. Here are a few pictures of Mari washing her hands, her new favorite thing. We have to lock the bathroom otherwise she would play in the water all day.

She also likes to smile for the camera and try and say cheese. This is what we get when she does it. I love it!

We dyed eggs the night before and it went better than I expected. Not to much of a mess and she listened and enjoyed it. Can't ask for much more.

CHEEEESE!!

This was one of my favorite CHEEESES!

Easter morning and look what the Easter Bunny brought. All kinds of great things. These were great until we discovered that he also brought a couple eggs filled with jelly beans.

Using her new chapstick or should I say eating it.

Grandma and Grandpa Keating sent Mari a golden egg to find (a family tradition of Daddy's that we are going to carry on). Here we are looking for the egg.

Here it is!

A pink beanie baby bear. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

Look at our beautiful girl. If only she always looked and acted this innocent.

Who says you need a fork to eat this.

Our friends Mark and Megan just adopted a little girl from Ethiopia. She is absolutely beautiful and we are excited for Mari to have a new girlfriend.

Our attempt at a family photo.

There was a egg hunt for the kids at church. Mari finding her first egg.

Here is another one.

She would not put the eggs in her bag.

And this is why she knew there was yummies in there.

Some of her friends, notice she is the only one that needed candy as bribe. I guess she is my child. Loves her sweets!
Mari, Polly, and Jude

All done and finally she put her eggs in the bag, but she didn't let go of the bag.

Checking out all the goods after we got home. I have had to hide all the candy including Greg's goodies.

Mari got a bunch of stickers for Easter and she loves to stick them on things and then take them off. Greg put one on her nose and she thought she got it off, but clearly not. It was so cute.

We had a great day and hope you all did as well. We miss everyone and wish we could have celebrated with you. Love you all!

Some pictures since we are so behind

So I have been told that I am not keeping up on the blog often enough. I agree! So here is a mass update of pics and what has been going on.

The weather has been gorgeous until today. The snow is coming AGAIN!!

This last weekend Grandpa and Grandma Nienhouse came for a quick weekend as well as Uncle Brian and Aunt Celine. It was great to see them even though I feel like all we did was eat. It was all good food, so it was worth it. Thanks for visiting!!

As for Mari she is talking a lot, we just don't know what she is saying. I do know her newest word "NO" quite well. She is very independent and when I ask her if she needs help, it's nooo. Also, she decided a couple weekends ago that she would figure out how to get out of her crib. She woke up from a nap and we were on our way up to get her and she greeted us at the door. Thinking and hoping it was a one time deal she managed to get out again the next morning. So needless to say she is now in a toddler bed and doing better than we anticipated. We still do not know how she climbed out with no injuries or giant thuds to the ground. Oh what fun :)

I had a doctors appointment last week and everything still is looking on track. We are all ready for our new little man to come. Except we need a name, so if anyone has any good suggestions please let us know.

We took advantage of a nice day Monday, by going for a walk and then to the park later that day. Mari went on the swings and got me to take her down the slides. That was fun with a giant belly. Oh well she had a great time and that is all that mattered. I did have fun as well.

There is also a dog park next to where we were, so she wanted to go watch all the dogs. We were there for a long time. Every time I asked her if she was ready I would get a head shake and noooo. It was cute how content she was with all the dogs.
I found these pictures as well from when Grammy was here. We were making sure her Easter dress fit, but she is a diva some days and today was one of them. I love when she wears her shades.

She also loves to help in the kitchen so here she is practicing with her pretend food while mama finishes cleaning up.

Yummy look what I am eating. These are just cute pictures I couldn't pass up putting in. Don't you all agree.

Like I said before she is very independent and has to feed herself despite the mess. She is getting very good with all the utensils, so we are a little less covered at the end of a meal.

Look Daddy I am helping.

She helped stir the ingredients for the cookies and did such a great job.

Oh this is what we were making. Yum Yum. She did not let go of that spoon in the hopes she may get another bite.

Mars also loves trying to dress herself. Especially socks and shoes. Moms socks are easier to get on and more fun.

Yee Haw

We have set her potty chair out, but aren't really doing much with it. She enjoys sitting on it or throwing trash in it.

The few times we have tried it without a diaper, she sits and stands, sits and stands. Then pees on the floor. I can't wait for the actual training.

And here is why I don't like to try much, because we would rather not have a diaper on and then we try and put it back on she wants to try it herself. Oh did I say she is independent.

Playing outside with some lawn ornaments that someone left in our yard for a fundraiser.

With these nice days comes all the melting snow and mud. Mari decided to go into a giant mud puddle and fall face first into it. She stunk and went straight to the bath.

Just sledding, she still enjoys it, but is starting to want to walk more. So you can guess we don't go very far or very quickly.

Well, that should catch you up for now, we will try and be back soon.
